PHILADELPHIA (Christian Examiner) – Ignorant white, homophobic church-going gun owners are boosting Donald Trump's candidacy for president of the United States, according to former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi [D-Calif.].

Pelosi told PBS's Judy Woodruff in an interview Wednesday that Clinton was having difficulty capturing the white male demographic and would likely not because they are ideologically committed to hatred and being poor.

"I think that, so many times, white ... non-college-educated white males have voted Republican. They voted against their own economic interests because of guns, because of gays, and because of God – the three G's, God being the woman's right to choose."

But she said the demographic might be coming around to support Hillary Clinton because her "economic agenda to create jobs, good-paying jobs, increasing paychecks."

"Some of those people were never going to be voting Democratic anyway. But I believe that, with the turnout that we expect to have, we will draw some of them in with our message, and enough other people to win the election," Pelosi said.
