Mountain Faith Band/FACEBOOK

The group had covered mainstream songs – with a bluegrass spin -- to win over the judges and viewers in recent weeks. The semifinal round included 10 contestants.

"We absolutely cannot thank ya'll enough for all the support!" the group said on Facebook. "We have been so humbled by all the kind comments and messages! We have had the time of our lives! ... We have some new music coming out for y'all and we hope yall love it! We love ya'll!"

The Sylva, N.C., band is well-known among the bluegrass circuit and sings often in churches. Its Facebook page says: "Bluegrass is our music. Christ is our passion!"

The group has three CDs and performs both Christian and mainstream music. Among its gospel songs are ones with lyrics such as "To be absent with the body is to be present with the Lord" and "I'm on the battlefield for my Lord." Many of their performances can be viewed on YouTube.
