NEW YORK (Christian Examiner) – Iran's Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the spiritual leader of the Persian country and Shiite Muslims worldwide, has published a new book just days after President Obama's much heralded nuclear deal between the U.S., Iran, and European powers – a deal Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said would result in war in the Middle East.
One [word in the book] is 'nabudi,' which means 'annihilation.' The other is 'imha,' which means 'fading out,' and, finally, there is 'zaval,' meaning 'effacement.
In the book, the "Supreme Leader" doesn't talk up peace and nuclear non-proliferation. Instead, he says he wants to see Israel destroyed and he provides the strategy for accomplishing the mission.
The book, written in Persian, was obtained by the New York Post's Amir Taheri. The journalist, who speaks Persian fluently, said the book contains three words that should cause alarm.
"One is 'nabudi,' which means 'annihilation.' The other is 'imha,' which means 'fading out,' and, finally, there is 'zaval,' meaning 'effacement,'" Taheri says in his analysis.
Taheri's copy of the book was obtained from Iran – the only place it is available – and reveals the regime's plan to overrun both the United States and Israel. Khamenei, the reporter said, is described as "the flagbearer of Jihad to liberate Jerusalem." In fact, the cover of the book shows a map of united "Palestine" under Islamic rule.
In the book, the Ayatollah claims he is not anti-Semitic, but he has repeatedly called into question the veracity of claims about the Holocaust. In this book, he does the same.
The Post report says Khamenei again questions whether the Holocaust ever happened. "If there was such a thing, we don't know why it happened and how," he wrote in Palestine.
According to the Post, Taheri claims Khamenei's argument is based upon his understanding of Islamic theology. In that theology, Muslims are given a sort of missionary mandate to conquer the world, the same as Christians. However, the commands center on engaging and destroying all opposition to Islamic rule even through violence when necessary.
In fact, all lands that have ever been conquered by Muslims still belong to them, the Ayatollah writes. He says all such lands must also be ruled by Muslim leaders.
In Palestine, Khamenei gives several more reasons why Israel must be defeated by Islamic conquerors. He first calls Israel the ally of "the Great Satan," or the United States.
He then claims the relationship between the two is wrong for the Middle East because the U.S. is trying to control all the lands of Ummah, or the heart of the Muslim world.
He also calls Israel an "infidel nation," and addresses as well his desire to wrestle control of Jerusalem from the Jews.
According to Taheri, Khamenei doesn't believe it is necessary to destroy the Jews en masse. Instead, he says a series of low intensity conflicts and terrorism could be an effective long-term strategy designed to make life so difficult for Jews in Israel that they are forced to abandon the country, according to the Post report.
Muslims, he says, can then rule over all of Israel's religious minorities – including the Jews.
