SICK: New ISIS video shows terrorists blowing up captives
NEW YORK (CHRISTIAN EXAMINER) -- A new video from the Islamic State terror group shows 10 prisoners accused of apostasy being blindfolded and forced to kneel on top of explosive charges linked with detonating cord.
In the video, which appears to show ISIS operating in the Afghan mountains of Nangarhar Province, the prisoners are marched single file to their execution. That is nothing new, but the means of execution is somewhat new and meant to be an insult to the victims and their families.
According to the UK Daily Mail, all of the men are from the Shinwari tribe, loyal to the Taliban but also at war with ISIS. The Taliban aligns with al Qaeda, the terror group run by Osama bin Laden's spiritual advisor, Ayman Al-Zawahiri.
Zawahiri, who also oversees the Al-Nusra Front in Syria, has been at war with ISIS since its inception. Zawahiri previously claimed the group has grown too radical and barbaric.
In the video, ISIS fighters on horseback are seen trotting up the mountains carrying the black flag of the terror group. The video cuts to militants burying the explosive charges and then covering them over. The prisoners are then made each to kneel on top of a canister of explosives beneath them.
The resulting explosion in the video is both preceding and followed by music, chants, and the sound of a sword being swung and striking something.
ISIS in the past months has released videos showing prisoners drowned in metal cages, shot and beheaded by children, and forced to sit in a car targeted with a rocket propelled grenade (RPG).
The group frequently releases videos of mass killings as a terror tactic and to show what happens to apostates (Shiites and Sunnis not loyal to their ideology) and Kafirs (or "infidels," including Christians and Jews).
The title of the new video is "Killing the Apostates in Revenge for the Monotheists #2." It is the sequel to a video released in June, in which two men were placed on their knees and shot in the head repeatedly.
