NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Christian Examiner) – Rory Feek brought his wife Joey home from the hospital this week after receiving new news about her cancer that started with "I'm sorry to have to tell you this."

"Sometimes there just aren't enough surgeries – or doctors – or chemotherapies – or prayers," Rory wrote on his blog, This Life I Live. And you have to wipe the tears from your cheeks and say the words that you were hoping to never have to say... Enough."

The couple, who are stars of the popular RFD-TV's Joey + Rory Show have decided to stop treatment and leave the decision with God.

To say my wife is broken-hearted is an understatement. And to tell you that we're not scared would be a lie. ... [But] you can't be in awe of an amazing road that God leads you down, and then be any less in awe of a corner that He has you turn.

He and Joey threw away their wall calendar because it made them think about the date the doctors gave her. So far, Joey has been resting, spending time with their daughter Indiana and enjoying their farm.

The couple welcomed daughter, Indiana, who was born with Down Syndrome, in February 2014.

"So we don't have forever," Rory wrote. "We've got right now. And that's enough."

Both Rory and Joey are trying to process the news and understand what it means for each other. "All I can do right now is think of her and want to make sure she's taken care of and knows how much she's loved be me, and by so many others," Rory said.

Joey recently celebrated her fortieth birthday with a picnic, surrounded by joyous friends and family.

ENOUGH

The heartbreaking news came after she had completely finished a round of chemotherapy that all hoped would permanently eradicate the cancer. But scans showed that tumors were already growing back in Joey's abdomen, and the doctors said chemo would only buy a little more time, Rory said.

The musician, songwriter, filmmaker couple Joey + Rory canceled their upcoming concert dates to spend more time together.

Rory's witness throughout his family tragedy remains strong.

"To say my wife is broken-hearted is an understatement," he said. "And to tell you that we're not scared would be a lie. ... [But] you can't be in awe of an amazing road that God leads you down, and then be any less in awe of a corner that He has you turn."

Rory wrote the couple will "coontinue to pray for a miracle," and yet "I think in the end ... the good and the bad, He just wants us to give it to Him. And so we do."

The young man ends his blog post with this request for prayer:

"And even more so, for peace with His decision.

"That is enough."
