Tebow makes $40K for charity golf shot

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (Christian Examiner) -- Tim Tebow won $40,000 for the Tim Tebow Foundation during the Waste Management Phoenix pro-am Jan. 28.

Tebow, a Heisman winning quarterback who played for University of Florida, was teamed with PGA Tour pro Patrick Reed and his former coach Urban Meyer, who is now head football coach at Oklahoma State University.

The former NFL football player who is now an ESPN college football analyst, was won the part-3 celebrity challenge on the 16th hole by hitting his tee shot 11 feet from the pin, according to CBS sports.

The Tim Tebow Foundation in December opened the doors of the Tebow CURE Hospital in Davao City Philippines. The foundation will also host special needs proms nationwide in the upcoming months.

Tebow is from Jacksonville, Florida, where he grew up involved in the ministry of First Baptist Church in Jacksonville.
