Italy defies Vatican to allow gay unions

Italy's lawmakers aren't listening to the Catholic Church's words on the family and the sanctity of marriage. On Wednesday, Italy's parliament approved same-sex civil unions and gave some rights to unmarried heterosexual couples on Wednesday.
