2016 U.S. Presidential Polls news update: Cruz, Clinton top Texas primary roll
Ted Cruz and Donald Trump were in a close fight in the recent Texas primary presidential poll results, while Hillary Clinton still enjoying a strong lead over Bernie Sanders.
The Emerson College Polling Society released a tally of the latest 2016 Presidential polls on Feb. 24, with Senator Cruz and Clinton leading the race.
In the Texas Republican primary roll, Cruz is on the lead with 29 percent of the votes, followed by Trump at 28 percent. Marco Rubio has 25 percent, John Kasich has 9 percent, and retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson is behind with 4 percent of the votes.
In the Democratic primary roll, Clinton came out very strong at 56 percent while Sanders holds 40 percent.
The above results were based on ECPS' poll from Feb. 21 to 23 with 446 likely primary voters, and a margin of error of +/- 4.6 percent.
Survey USA, sponsored by TEGNA, also released the results of its Texas primary presidential poll. For the Republicans: Cruz is now tied with Trump at 32 percent. Rubio got 17, Kasich got 6, and Carson got 5. For the Democrats: Clinton is up by 29 having 61 percent of the votes, against Sanders who got 32 percent.
The report mentioned that 70 percent of middle-aged voters and 82 percent of seniors have backed up Clinton, while Sanders is supported by 58 percent of the youngest voters.
From the results of the Texas primary presidential poll gathered by KTVT-CBS, the tally seemed close to the report of Survey USA. For the Republicans: Cruz has 33 percent votes, which is 8 percent up with Trump at 25 percent. Rubio got 15, Kasich has 8, and Carson got 6. For the Democrats: Clinton got 61 percent -- a huge increase of 32 -- over Sanders who got 29 percent.
In another news, Trump was already declared winner in Nevada. This is already his third win, after leading the polls in New Hampshire and South Carolina.
