The Truth Project training planned
INDIAN WELLS — The Truth Project, a biblical worldview training program by Focus on the Family, will be hosted by Southwest Community Church from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. May 10.

The training is designed for potential small group leaders and uses a Focus on the Family DVD that explores what it means to have a Christian worldview.

Among the topics to be covered will be understanding and living the Christian worldview in daily life, knowing the nature and character of God, His design for all of life: work, science, family, government, art and ethics, and learning how to thrive in a hostile culture.

The registration cost is $89 per person or couple, with group rates also available. Participants will receive the complete DVD set of 12 lessons. Participants will also have access to the project’s password-protected learning support site that features lesson outlines, bonus multimedia content, discussion forums and worldview articles. Online registration is open until May 5, with walk-up registration beginning at 7:45 a.m.

The church is located at 77701 Fred Waring Drive.

Men’s center to offer summer retreats
PASADENA — The Center for Christian Men’s Work is presenting a series of weekend retreats this summer.

The first is the annual Father's Day Weekend, set for June 13 to 15 at Fraizer Park. Dads can bring their sons, including those in adulthood. Dads are also welcome to bring their fathers. The weekend includes what is described as a powerful Blessing Ceremony between the generations.

On July 13 to 15, the ministry is hosting a Celebrating Wild-at-Heart Weekend at Oak Glen Christian Conference Center in conjunction with the John Eldredge book, “Wild at Heart.” Although the book was the impetus for the establishment of the men’s center, it is not affiliated with Eldredge’s Ransomed Heart Ministries.

A future weekend will host Men in Mid-Life and be presented at Oak Glen. The location of this weekend is Oak Glen, in the mountains outside San Bernardino.
