Darren Wilson latest news update: Cop says he has clear conscience after Michael Brown shooting

Police officer Darren Wilson, who shot and killed 18-year-old Michael Brown in August and was not indicted by a St. Louis County jury this week, said he has a "clean conscience" about what happened. Brown's parents have called Wilson's statements "an insult to injury" and called into question his account of events, which include the teen charging at him and trying to take his gun.

Wilson told George Stephanopolous of ABC news during a 90-minute interview that he would not have done anything differently if he had to encounter Brown again.

There's "no way" the teen had his hands up before he shot him, Wilson insisted. Other eyewitness in Ferguson, Missouri had described conflicting accounts of Brown being on his knees, with his hands up or with his back turned when he was killed.

"I don't think its a haunting," Wilson said when Stephanopolous asked if he was haunted by the incident, "it's always going to be something that happened. The reason I have a clean conscience is because I know I did my job right."

The small clip of the interview that has been released has angered Brown's mother Lesley McSpadden, who said it added "insult to injury." It "sounds crazy," Michael Brown Sr. told the "Today" show.

Brown's parents were referring to Wilson's testimony, which was released after a grand jury did not find probable that Wilson committed a crime when he shot Brown. The 28-year-old cop said that the teen stopped running away, turned around and charged him, which made him fear for his life.

"For one, my son, he respected law enforcement," Brown Sr. explained. "Two, who in their right mind would rush or charge at a police officer that has his gun drawn? It sounds crazy."
