'Dance Moms' season 6 news: Maddie Ziegler and sister Mackenzie leaving?

Maddie Ziegler, the 13-year-old dancer who rose to fame after starring in three of singer Sia's music videos, may be exiting the Abby Lee Dance Company for good.
According to ET, a source claims that Ziegler, her 11-year-old sister Mackenzie, and their mother Melissa Gisoni, will exit the Lifetime reality TV series "Dance Moms" after its sixth run. The three have been main cast members of the show since it debuted in 2011. According to the source, Gisoni informed the other cast members about their impending departure during the show's taping last week.
Ziegler, whose first reality TV performance was for the Paula Abdul reality show "Live to Dance," has appeared in various TV programs and music videos since the age of 8, but gained wider notice at 11 when she performed in Sia's 2014 music video "Chandelier." In 2015, she and actor Shia LaBeouf starred in another Sia music video, "Elastic Heart." "Big Girls Don't Cry," also released in 2015, rounded out the trilogy of Sia's music videos starring Ziegler.
According to ET, although she may no longer appear in "Dance Moms," the dancer/actress is reportedly set to star in "Sister," an upcoming film written and directed by her collaborator and good friend, Sia. She is also expected to earn at least $20,000 for appearing in the Colin Trevorrow-helmed "The Book of Henry," TMZ has learned. The forthcoming film stars Naomi Watts, Bobby Moynihan, Sarah Silverman, and current awards-show darling Jacob Tremblay, who starred in the Academy Award-nominated "Room" (2015).
In an interview with ET in September 2015, Ziegler said that while she was grateful for her work on "Dance Moms," she also wanted to "move on to bigger and better things."
"I definitely want to be moving more into acting," she said. "Still keeping up my dancing, but also [do] movies and scripted TV shows."
"Dance Moms" airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. EST on Lifetime.
