Tyra Banks baby update: Supermodel posts son's photo

Much to the surprise of many, supermodel Tyra Banks posted an unexpected Valentine photo on Instagram.

Instead of the usual photos of flowers and extravagant dinners, the "America's Next Top Model" founder and host displayed a photo of herself carrying her newborn child and she captioned it: "This is the happiest Valentine's day of my life. York, Daddy @erikasla and I send you so much love."

The photo only shows little York's tiny hand with his head leaning peacefully on his mom's chest. The side view of his face is visible as he is wrapped snuggly with a cloth.

This is the first time that Banks posted a photo of her son with Norwegian photographer Erik Asla.

About three weeks ago, she also posted on Instagram a photo of a baby's hat with a caption: "The best present we worked and prayed so hard for is finally here. He's got my fingers and big eyes and his daddy Erik's mouth and chin. As we thank the angel of a woman that carried our miracle baby boy for us, we pray for everyone who struggles to reach this joyous milestone. York Banks Asla, welcome to the world."

After that, she expressed her thanks to singer Miley Cyrus for the giant balloons she sent for Banks' little bundle of joy. The balloons spelled York's name and the model said they displayed it in their stairway.

Previously, people wondered how the supermodel tucked her tummy as she never showed any signs that was pregnant on national TV in the past months. Banks, however, clarified that she and Asla opted to have a child through a surrogate mother. Banks, age 42, and Asla have been struggling to have their own bundle of joy. She shared this in September 2015 on "FABlife" where she was a co-host that time.
