The "Naruto" lore has always been an unending adventure and with the success story of "Boruto: Naruto the Movie," it is no wonder that a manga dedicated to Naruto's son is reportedly being planned.

According to Saiyan Island, a manga series concerning the exploits of Boruto will soon enter the development stage. The monthly publication will be drawn by Masashi Kishimoto's protégé, Mikio Ikemoto, who also worked on "Naruto." Kishimoto will oversee the project, just as he did for "Boruto: Naruto the Movie." The story arc for the young Boruto's saga will once again be penned by Ukyo Kodachi, who also worked on the script for the anime movie.

Despite being in a monthly format, the "Boruto" manga will be made available via digital manga magazine Weekly Shonen Jump. The manga's storyline will immediately follow the events of the 2015 anime movie.

An image from Saiyan Island indicated the roll call of characters and features, starting from the ninja settlement called Hidden Leaf Village with the mountain named Hokage Rock, Uchiha clan survivor Sasuke Uchiha, the shinobi Shikadai Nara, the genin Inojin Yamanaka, the kunoichi Chocho Akamichi, the hot-blooded Metal Lee, the analytical Sarada Uchiha, the calm Mitsuki, and the father-and-son tandem.

The Hidden Sand Village was well-represented with the well-concealed Araya, a dark-wool-garbed Shinki, and a female named Yodo. It was also mentioned that an unidentified character will make a debut in the series.

The "Boruto" manga is lined up for a spring release. Prior to this news, Anime News Network reported that Weekly Shonen jump began the hype machine with a teaser featuring the familiar logo of the anime and shadowy profiles of the "Naruto" cast in the background.

"Boruto: Naruto the Movie," the 11th Naruto film, was launched in part to celebrate the manga series' 15th anniversary.
