Texting can send Bibles to persecuted Christians

|

SANTA ANA, Calif. — Open Doors, which has sent Bibles to restrictive countries for 54 years, has developed a system for believers to text $5 donations to the Mobile Giving Foundation, which will provide one Bible in a persecuted region.

"Texting is an easy, quick way to make a difference in the spiritual life of a persecuted Christian," said Jane Huckaby, vice president of program services for Open Doors USA. "We have so many desperate requests from thousands of believers who are praying for a Bible of their very own. Texting is a great way of using current technology to strengthen God's kingdom and help answer believers' prayers for the Word of God."

Those wishing to participate in the program can simply text the word "Bible" to 20222. The $5 contribution will appear on the user's next cell phone bill and every cent will be contributed to the foundation. Users can text up to five times a month.
