IRVINE, Calif. Fishfest 2009, the annual daylong music concert at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater, is hoping to reel in music enthusiasts for the July 25 extravaganza with an alluring good deal: limited seats for $9.59.
The price coincides with the call numbers for The Fish 95.9, which launched the festival a handful or so years ago. The festival is produced by Tim Taber's Transparent Productions.
The hook for the show, of course, is the strong lineup, which includes MercyMe, Jars of Clay, Hawk Nelson, Phil Wickham, RED, Matthew West, Needtobreathe, Francesca Battistelli, This Beautiful Republic, Brandon Muchow and Jana Alayra.
The discounted tickets include reserved seats in Orchestra, Loge, Terrace and general admission seating on the lawn. There is a 10-ticket per person limit for the $9.59 tickets. Other ticket options include a $25 VIP Pass that provides access to the VIP area with food and drinks; the $50 VIP Package with the best seats in the Orchestra, a VIP parking and a VIP pass; or the $100 VIP gold package for seats in the Orchestra Pit, VIP parking, a VIP pass, on-stage viewing access and a T-shirt. There is a $6 service fee per ticket.
Parking options include a $10 general pass or a $20 VIP parking pass.
Some of the festival's proceeds will benefit Compassion International.
Volunteer opportunities are available in such areas as artist merchandise sales, the VIP area, program distribution and e-mail sign-up, information booth and vendor check-in. Volunteers must be at least 15 and willing to work one four- to six-hour shift. In exchange, volunteers will receive a free ticket to the show and a festival T-shirt. Volunteers may watch the show before or after their volunteer shift. There will be no childcare available at Fishfest.
The amphitheater is located at 8808 Irvine Center Drive.
