One of Mars Hill pastors, who recently asked for church leader Mark Driscoll to step down, has been terminated.
The news adds to the controversy surrounding Mars Hill, after weeks and months of alarming headlines about Driscoll and his methods of ministering and running the church.
The pastor who was fired, was one of nine pastors in the church who had written a letter to elders of the church calling for Driscoll to step down from leadership, and to stop all ministerial works.
Just last weekend, Driscoll addressed the Mars Hill congregation telling them he would be taking an "extended focus break" from his leadership duties at the church. It is expected that he will be away for at least six weeks.
Driscoll has been criticized from a number of areas in recent months, with some calling his leadership abusive and intimidating, in particular towards other church leaders, as well as staff and church members.
