Dove Awards honor diverse Christian music

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Switchfoot, the Crabb Family, Casting Crowns and Jeremy Camp were multiple winners April 13 at The 2005 Gospel Music Awards, held at the Grand Ole Opry.

The 36th annual event honors the best in Christian music, with statues awarded to everything from Children’s Music Album of the Year to Artist of the Year.

San Diego band Switchfoot took the honors for Artist of the Year, Rock/Contemporary Song and Short Form Music Video for “Dare You To Move,” and Long Form Music Video for “Switchfoot Live in San Diego.”

The Crabb Family, Casting Crowns and Jeremy Camp each brought home four awards.

The show will be broadcast nationally at a later date.
