FORT WORTH, Texas — FamilyNet television—in an effort to present new worldview programming in primetime—has entered into new alliances with FOX News, Focus on the Family, and leading Christian pundits Janet Parshall, Hugh Hewitt and Jay Sekulow.

“We are very excited to introduce FamilyNet’s new worldview primetime programming block this fall,” Dr. Bob Reccord, president of the North American Mission Board, the parent organization of FamilyNet, said in a news release. “It will feature well-informed proponents of a Christian worldview who can interpret the events making news in our society and offer applications of these views for daily living.

“Our biblical worldview can and does provide the answers to people who need to know the truth behind the headlines and how they can make a difference,” said nationally syndicated Christian radio talk show host Janet Parshall who, for the first time, is bringing her perspective on world events to the television airwaves. “I look forward to being part of a network that understands the impact our faith can truly have on this country. FamilyNet just might be one of the important resources available today for transforming culture.”

Supporting FamilyNet’s programming expansion is FOX News’ NewsEdge, which will provide stories on American politics, business news and consumer issues, entertainment news, health and medicine and human-interest features.

In addition to its new current events-oriented programming, FamilyNet is also bringing the world’s most successful Christian children’s radio program, Focus on the Family’s Adventures in Odyssey, to television viewers.

“Adventures in Odyssey will provide a smart, funny, values-oriented alternative that children and their parents will love,” said CEO Bob Sutton, chief executive officer of FamilyNet.

Expanded FamilyNet programming will also include “The Way of the Master,” a 13-week reality TV series hosted by Kirk Cameron, that takes the Christian faith into highways and byways, malls and movie theaters, college campuses and local coffee houses.

Based in Fort Worth, Texas, FamilyNet is a 24-hour television network that can be seen in more than 31 million TV households, airing more than 50 hours of original, values-based programs weekly.
